Agency: Russia’s fish exports rise 7% to 1.6 mln tns in Jan–Sep
MOSCOW, Oct 9 (PRIME) -- Russia’s fish exports increased by 7% on the year to 1.6 million tonnes in January–September, the Federal Fisheries Agency said in a statement on Monday.
“According to the Federal Customs Service’s preliminary data, fish product exports excluding trade beyond the customs’ operations amounted to around 1.6 million tonnes, a 7% rise on the year. In cash terms, the exports stood at U.S. $4.1 billion,” the statement read.
Fish imports grew by 24% on the year to 439,000 tonnes and $1.9 billion in the period.
Russian fishermen caught a total of 4.2 million tonnes of water biological resources, marking a rise of 12% on the year, in January–September.
